My evil writing plans for 2014

I've made some huge plans for this year. One being totally dropping a WIP and starting another. Yeah, writers do crazy shit sometimes. But this new book had my heart and soul and wouldn't let me sleep until I wrote it. So I did what it told me to do and I wrote the novel in three months. That's my usual writing time so I was pleased with it. The book, Who We Were is due to come out September of this year. I'm extremely excited to release it.
She's from the same state as me. Heck, she's from a city pretty close by. How was I not blessed with her nerdy cuteness?

You can find out more about it here; https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22352918-who-we-were?ac=1

My other plans for this year include a school visit to Deerfield Township Middle School where I'll talk to some awesome tweens about writing and my books. I just hope they get my dry sense of humor and I'll make them laugh.

Then it's time to get back to work and write my next book, The Librarian. I've talked about this book for a while and I am just now outlining it and getting it prepared. I absolutely can't wait to tell you more about this book. What I can tell you is this; There is time traveling involved. There will be romance! Like major earth shattering romance. There will be a library and a librarian.(Well duh) And it will take the term 'book boyfriend' to a whole new level. (That's my tagline people so don't got stealing that or anything!)

I do plan on doing only two book signings this year. One in Smithville, New Jersey (Authors on the Greene) and the other at my local library because they're awesome.

When I have more news I'll let you all know. For now keep your eyes open for Who We Were and make sure you add it to your TBR

Carved in Cherry Cover Reveal

Coming June First!
One thing set Lydia Shaw and her store apart from the other antique shops in town…
Lydia’s collection was plagued by curses, and it was her duty to break them.

Rachel, Angie, and Jo knew nothing about their aunt’s secret life. In fact, they didn’t even know she owned an antique shop, until they inherited it. Unfortunately for them, Lydia passed down more than just her store. The sisters are the proud new owners of countless deadly curses, buried under centuries of dust.
Lydia also left behind her apprentice, Peter. He does everything he can to protect the girls, as they explore their new store, unaware of the dangers it hides. In spite of his efforts, Rachel finds herself obsessed with opening a strange trunk, Angie has vivid dreams, haunted by a man who claims he needs her help, and Jo’s imagination starts to run wild.
When one of them falls victim to a curse, it’s up to Peter and her sisters to save her. But, if Peter can’t teach them to wield a magic, that he barely understands himself, she’ll be the first one to die...

Here's an exclusive sneak peek for you!

   “Who are you?” she called.
The man frowned at her. “You can … you can see me?”
The question caught her off guard. Angie wasn’t sure what she had been expecting him to ask, but that wasn’t it. “Y-yes. Who are you?”
He cleared his throat. “Ethan. My name is Ethan.” He moved toward her, and the light from the cell phone made him easier to see and less threatening. “What’s your name?”
   “Angie.”
Angie studied him. He was cute. He had dirty blond hair, which was styled and gelled up unusually high. Khaki pants and a knit, button up sweater, made up his really preppy, bordering on outdated, outfit.
Ethan smiled at her. He looked happy. No, more than happy, he looked overjoyed. “Angie,” he breathed. “You’re beautiful.”
Well, that was straight-forward and awkward. Angie smiled weakly. “Uh … thanks.”
It seemed like he realized his comment had made her uncomfortable. “I’m sorry. It’s just that you’re the first person I’ve seen … the first person I’ve spoken to in a long time.”
   “How long?”
Ethan shook his head. “I don’t know.”
She realized, with a start, that she recognized him. “Oh my God, I saw you! I saw your reflection today!”
   “You did?”
The thought made Angie’s heart pound. She had been awake then. How had she seen him while awake? She took another look at his clothes. Did anybody dress like that anymore? God, what if he’s a freaking ghost? He looked real, solid. Alive. Weren’t ghosts supposed to be transparent or something? “I don’t understand. How can I see you when … if nobody else can?”
Ethan furrowed his brows at her. “What is your trisk-rune?”
   “What?”
   “Your trisk-rune. What is it?”
Angie shook her head. “I don’t know what you mean.”
He seemed confused by her answer. “You don’t know what your trisk-rune is?” He looked around. “But then … what are you doing here?”
“Here? In the shop?” Angie shrugged. “My sisters and I—”
Ethan stumbled back a step. “What? Your sisters?”
   “Yes.”
“You’re one of them? Is that why you can see me?”
“What?” Angie took a step closer. “I don’t know what you mean.”
“You did this to me!” he yelled. “You and your sisters!”
“No!” Angie shook her head, baffled. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” As she spoke, she moved closer to him and reached out, even though he was halfway across the room.
“Stay away from me!” He waved his hands through the air and then, to Angie’s utter shock, a ball of white fire was flying toward her.
As she raised her hands to protect herself, she screamed.

If you can't hold out until June 1st, you can read the first chapter here!

The Order of the Spirit Realm Series

In a single night Bay-Lee has two visitors, a dead rock star and a reaper.  One comes with a threat and the other with a warning.  They know she’s on her way to being the newest student at Van Helsing’s school, where she will learn to be a great hunter like her father.  Before she can reach her goal she will face wraiths, an angry boy with a dark prophecy hanging over his head, and her worst nightmare: werewolves.  She’s determined nothing will stop her, not even a pair of jungle green eyes.

Her roommate is killed.  Her mentor doesn’t want to mentor her.  A border monster tries to kill her.  Nothing is the way she imagined it would be.  Students whisper behind her back, saying she’s cursed.  They want her to go home, but Bay-Lee isn’t going anywhere, not when she’s this close to getting everything she’s ever wanted.

At Orientation, she learns she’s been given the rank of Bait.  Why?  Because that is all new students are good for, to be used as bait to draw out monsters so the ‘real’ hunters can kill them.  She realizes no one is going to take her seriously until she moves up to Hunter.  With that in mind and a few friends at her side, Bay-Lee is going to tackle a dangerous mystery.

Why are hunters dying on their birthdays?  If she solves it, she will move up in rank.  If she doesn’t... her birthday is just around the corner.

BAIT is FREE at online retailers such as Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Smashwords, etc.

When Hunter (book 2) opens, Bay-Lee is living in Maine with her uncle, and her mind is focused on graduating.  Her life would almost be normal if it wasn't for the fact her dead boyfriend is haunting her.  He wants her to return to New Zealand to Van Helsing's school for hunters, but she refuses.

Then a reaper tries to kill her... maybe visiting her father wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Warrior (book 3) is scheduled for release in July 2014.

The story continues two years later with Bay-Lee on her way to becoming a Warrior.  Her boyfriend is moody and distant, making her wonder how long they have before he is banished to the Spirit Realm forever.  She's certain she can't make it without him.

Desperate, she pushes toward her goal of killing the werewolf pack that murdered her mother.  Nick insists she isn't ready yet, but what choice does she have?  Time is running out.

Her eyes are starting to change to something less than human.  She's clocked too many hours in the other realm already.  It's now or never.  A werewolf is stalking her.  If she doesn't destroy them soon, they will kill her.  Why doesn't anyone understand?  They think she's suffering from a Freshman Meltdown, but she knows what she saw.  At least one werewolf wants her dead bad enough to risk being slaughtered by nearby hunters.

Born and raised in sunny California, Kasi Blake has always had a dark side, hidden from family and close friends.  She hides in her office at night, writing in the dark.  Part of her crosses over to other realms where she meets the most interesting and dangerous creatures.  You can find Kasi at her blog and Goodreads, FB, and Twitter.  She loves to hear from readers.

excerpt
“Paige!” My eyes snapped open and I looked around wildly. Cold sweat beaded my forehead and my hands were shaking. My wooden leg wasn't next to me but my sister and Derek were. Derek held crutches and handed them to me as our eyes met.
“Thanks,” I muttered, forgetting for a moment that I didn’t like him. “Why are you screaming at me?”
“Because you were screaming yourself,” Elyssa said. “You must have fallen asleep and you started crying out.” I sat up straighter. Not this again I thought. The doctor said the pills would take care of it.
“How bad?” I asked. “What did I say?”
“I couldn't understand you,” Elyssa admitted. “But it sounded pretty bad. Is everything okay?”
“It's fine,” I said sharply. There was no way that I was going to tell Elyssa about the dream. “I'm fine.”
“There's no reason to be so angry Paige,” Derek said. “Your sister is just trying to help.”
“I said I'm fine,” I snapped. “She's not trying to help as much as trying to get on our father's good side. She was always the goodie two shoes...daddy's little princess. If her perfect reputation wasn’t at stake, she wouldn’t give a damn about me.”
