The Crimson Key News

Early release date for The Crimson Key Book 2 in The Visitor's Series

Anxiously waiting for the follow up to The Brown House? Well your wait won't be too much longer thanks to Anchor Group! They have agreed that the book just can't wait until Summer. The release date has been bumped up to May. Great news right? I finished the book in record time and now I have started writing the third book. My little fingers are typing away hoping to give you all the books you deserve. I love writing in this genre. I promise you that you will not be disappointed by the books. There will still be lots of creeptastic adventures for Brylee and Ephraim. And plenty of romance still. But the curse will take someone. Sadly Brylee's heart will get broken. Who will it be? find out this May!

Here's is my favorite quote so far from TCK:
'There was something about being in love with someone like Ephraim Mayhew, I melted under his stare and turned to dust from his kiss. It was like our love was written in the stars.'

Dont forget to follow Brylee and Ephraim on Facebook for more exciting news and fun :

blog hop Q&A

Q&A WITH AUTHOR CHRISTY SLOAT

1. What is the working title of your next book?
The Crimson Key-Book 2 in the Visitor’s Series

2. Where did the idea come for the book?
Well this is a continuation from The Brown House. TBH came from all the stories of an old home my husband grew up in. The house was very haunted and I knew I had to write about it. So I am very thankful to my husband for all of his stories.

3. Genre?
YA Thriller/Suspense
4. What, if any actors would you star to play in a movie version of this book?
Well Zac Efron is totally Ephraim. No doubt about it. I don’t have a favorite for Brylee. I think Diana Agron might work.

5. What is a one sentence synopsis of the book?
The truth can be deadly

6. Who is the publisher of the book?
This book is published through Anchor Group Publishing. They are a traditional publisher made up of an amazing group of authors. http://www.anchorgrouppublishing.com

7. Would you compare your books to others out there, and if so what books are yours most like?
I think that it would be compared most to The Ghost Whisperer.

8. Who inspired this book?
My character Brylee is inspired by my neice Tayler. She is so much like her its crazy.

9. What else would the reader maybe like to know, or what might pique their interest?
This book is based on true stories. I took those and drew up my own fictional tale.

Blog post and GIVEAWAY

REVIEW OF THE UNRAVELING AND BOOK GIVEAWAY

The Unraveling of Avery Snow
By Christy Sloat

Thank you Christy Sloat…. It’s a perfect ending. Perfect! I almost think you added a lovely bow! I know I am jumping ahead sorry! This book series makes you wonder what your life would be like, if you lived it this way. Amazing!

We start right back up where we left off with book one… Avery and Dallas opening restaurant and Landon… Searching! (Extensive searching, no stone left unturned) Avery is with Dallas but of course, Landon is still here. All of his (Landon’s) extensive searching is creating problems, jealousy. How will Avery deal with that? I mean the girl can’t help but wonder. I know I would .. Really. What if? Just what if?
No matter what poor Avery always seems to be either hurting one or the other. Always hurting herself. I Loved the development of Lanni’s character. Human life might not be so bad. (If you have not read Lanni’s novella- you must!)
Twists and turns a long the way.. Truths discovered and choices made.
I love that we get answers..of course I am not given them to you.. Ha! I will tell you if you want to know who is chosen- read it! Does darkness prevail? Read it. What happens to our Avery? Does she make it out in one piece? Yes-you know right – read it! Christy Sloat fabulous. I am a fan, I have enjoyed everything you have put to paper. (Albeit virtual paper for me haha) Thank you and please by all means, know I am fan! Always!

Sneak peek into The Crimson Key

Unedited look into the next book. Enjoy:

He leaned down on top of me and kissed my neck slowly. It was times like these that I would miss with him. Being with him intimately meant being as close to him as possible. It was taking all from him that I could while I could. While he was here with me. He took off my shirt and ran his fingers lightly over my skin giving me chills. The good kind that you don’t ever want to stop. He slipped of his shirt and soon it was just his skin on mine reminding me what he feels like in the flesh. The memories of him and I would last a lifetime even if our bodies wouldn’t. The truth was that in that desperate moment while our bodies made love, I feared for how much longer I would have him with me. Sure I was only seventeen and curses shouldn’t exist. Ephraim was mine and I was his and no matter what, we would be pulled apart somehow. He felt it and so did I, that’s why we spent our many nights together. Against the rules of my parents, he snuck into my window. Against the thoughts and negativity of our peers we stayed together and endured. No matter what people would try to do we would never be apart. Until the end
